Decluttering
Process
The process would start with you getting in touch with us either by phone
or e-mail – please see details on our contact
page.
We can discuss what you are trying to achieve, and answer any questions
that you may have.
Together we can select a package that will suit the type of session(s)
and support that you will need.
We will agree diary dates for the session(s) to take place.
Prior to the session either by e-mail or post, we will send to you a
copy of our Terms &
Conditions and a service level agreement document that outlines each
of our responsibilities.
Regardless of what package you have purchased, the time we spend with
you will be broken down into 30 minute mini sessions. Twenty minutes of
this will be spent decluttering and 10 minutes will be spent putting items
away.
For each session we will have three boxes and a black bin liner. The
boxes will be labelled as follows:
Put Away – this is for items, that you want to
keep but have ended up in the wrong place. These are the items you will
be putting away in the last 10 minutes of the session.
Storage – this is for items that you want to keep,
but do not use very often. These can be placed in the attic, garage, shed,
under bed storage etc.
Sell / Donate – this is for items that you no
longer want, but they still have life left in them. You can sell them,
either at car boot sales or online at auction sites such as Ebay. Or donate
to charity shops, school sales etc.
The black bin liner is for items that are clearly rubbish.
Items that have come to the end of their life, are broken or incomplete.
It would be helpful if you start to collect the boxes and bin bags prior
to the session. You can often find sturdy boxes in the fruit & veg
section of your local supermarket. Plastic crates with lids can also be
very helpful, as they stop you or other members of the household returning
to the boxes and getting items back out.
This method of decluttering works extremely well by allowing you to sort,
throw away, organise and put away. It forces quick decisions from you,
and keeps momentum going.
We will remove one car load of clutter at the end of the session. We
can advise on storage solutions, placement of furniture, recycling, selling
and disposal of items. We also provide Fact Sheets to leave with you on
these areas.
Towards the end of the session you can decide if you would like to renew
in order to further pursue the current area we are working on or to make
positive changes in another part of the house.
